Mental Health

Taking care of your mind as well as your body is really important if you need to stay at home or you are shielding because of coronavirus (COVID-19).You may feel bored, frustrated or lonely. You may also be low, worried or anxious, or concerned about your finances, your health or those close to you. It’s important to remember that it’s OK to feel this way and that everyone reacts differently. Remember, for most of us, these feelings will pass. Staying at home may be difficult, but you’re helping to protect yourself and others by doing it.The tips and advice here are things you can do now to help you keep on top of your mental wellbeing and cope with how you may feel if you’re staying at home. Make sure you get further support if you feel you need it.

To help you protect yourself and those around you from coronavirus, we’re offering our COVID-19 e-learning course completely free of charge. We know that it’s a difficult time, and understanding the best course of action can be stressful. That’s why we’re offering you this course completely free of charge. We want you to be confident in the actions you’re taking to protect yourself, loved ones and colleagues.  

Our mental health is as important as our physical health, and it can fluctuate on a spectrum from good to poor. Work-related stress and mental health problems often go together and the symptoms can be very similar. In this course, you will have the opportunity to discuss the definitions of mental health and stress, and explore how to recognise the key signs.

We will focus on the cost of mental health problems and workplace stress at both individual and organisational levels. We’ll also assess interventions to combat workplace stress and the value of performance coaching and its impact upon employee wellbeing.

Children

With schools and offices shutting, we’ve got a handy guide to keeping the kids happy whilst staying at home.
We’ve got an amazing collection of printable activities and games for you to keep the family busy, including printable Julia Donaldson activity sheets and online resources to help keep learning alive. 

Kids should aim for 60 minutes of activity each day. We know that may feel difficult right now, but we have loads of Disney inspired indoor games and 10 Minute Shake Up activities to help them stay active while everyone’s at home.

Kidscape and Elmer understand that these are uncertain times for families and we wanted to let you know that we will be with you every step of the way! We recognise that with schools closing, parents are looking for fun ideas as to how to occupy their children while at home.
